A series of traditional ink and watercolour portraits with surrealist and natural elements. Every portrait is a different interpretation of a powerful relationship with nature.
A lighthouse keeper’s daughter who famously braved stormy waters to rescue survivors from a shipwreck in 1838. My mother had a memory of her portrait, lost in the black hole that family heirlooms sometimes go into. A famous scene of bravery in uncertain waters, drawn in my style.
Duality, the story of Night and Day
Two sisters, born under the eclipse, are each blessed with the powers of Day and Night. Together, they control the passage of time from their isolated kingdom. As the years trickle by, Night grows tired of her responsibilities (and bad reputation) and decides to leave, leaving her home and sister behind. As the world descends quickly into a chaos of lengthy Day without Night, Night realizes that her darkness is just as valuable and needed for the well-being of the world.
An exploration of mental health, healing and hope.
